Jeannie Kahwajy

Jeannie KahwajyDr. Kahwajy has extensive background and interest in decision making, negotiation, and interpersonal interactions—and also how gender affects them. Her research and consulting work concerns how we influence others (especially those without authority), how we negotiate the attention, goodwill, and participation of others, and how we can break through perceptual and structural barriers within organizations, both at the individual and the social levels. The end goal of her research focuses on finding the mechanisms to update beliefs and overcome biases—both individually and socially held ones, a topic with important applications in areas such as leadership, teamwork, learning, change, integration, and innovation. Dr. Kahwajy holds MS (in EES), MBA, and PhD (in organizational behavior and social psychology) degrees from Stanford University. She was a professor of organizational behavior and leadership at the international business school IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland, for over four years, continues to teach and consult around the globe, and has been a part of many classes at Stanford in negotiation, organizational behavior, and decision analysis, as well as a guest lecturer at DEF teacher workshops in decision quality.
