David Samuelson

david_samuelAs a member of Pearson plc’s digital strategy team, David is responsible for exploring new global business opportunities across Pearson’s education, trade publishing, and information businesses in the fast-growing games industry, and leveraging emerging new technology such as augmented reality. Prior to joining Pearson in 1997, he worked with a pre-internet search company start-up, where he went from fifth employee to COO. This led to executive product development leadership roles in educational software companies including MECC (Minnesota Educational Computing Corporation), makers of The Oregon Trail, and Living Books, a joint venture between Broderbund Software and Random House. At Pearson, David created one of the earliest online interactive textbooks for home and school use, called the Know Zone, and continued his focus on the company’s digital strategy as VP of Family Education Network and SVP of product strategy and marketing for the U.S. School Business. Most recently, he served as president of Global Schools, working across Pearson’s school publishing interests worldwide.
