Congratulations to Annie Duke, DEF's 2009 Volunteer of the Year!

We're pleased to announce that Annie Duke, a board member since 2007, had been selected as DEF's 2009 Volunteer of the Year. Since joining DEF, Annie has worked tirelessly to spread the word about the foundation and its mission. She has been especially active in fundraising efforts. In March of this year, she hosted a celebrity poker tournament in Palo Alto, Calif., where she secured the participation of four fellow World Series of Poker champions plus widely known tournament director Matt Savage. She's now working on a second poker fundraising event at Commerce Casino in Southern California. In addition, Annie has been featured in a number of speaking engagements, where she promoted DEF's programs and philosophy. She has also referred the foundation to several schools, whose teachers have attended the DEF summer workshop program and with whom we continue to work.

DEF deeply appreciates Annie's enthusiasm and support, and looks forward to working with her in the months to come.
