Maniac Magee

General Description: Jerry Spinelli’s novel, Maniac Magee is the central focus of this unit designed for students in grades 5-7. Through a sequential series of lessons, students use basic principles of decision making as a way of reading and understanding the text. Lesson divided into five parts are intended to help students strengthen their review skills after reading the following segments of the story: Chapters 1-11, 12-15, 16-20, 22-24, and 42-46.
