Positive Pathways

Positive Pathways is a program developed with students who have faced difficult decisions that may have landed them in a precarious position in mind.

Positive Pathways is a program developed for students who have made decisions that may have landed them in a precarious legal situation and/or a precarious state of mind.

DEF typically introduces Decision Skills to students entering high school to provide a healthy vocabulary and framework for considering when making decisions, big or small.

If a student’s issues include getting to or staying in school, getting into physical altercations, engaging in risky behaviors such as shoplifting or speeding, or simply general poor decision-making, then improving their decision-making skills via tailored educational activities may be more fruitful than the traditional, punitive programming.

Positive Pathways focuses on rehabilitation by teaching positive decision paths that are more likely to lead to better outcomes. The program empowers students to create healthier choices.

Currently, this is a 20-hour program facilitated by an instructor and we recommend approximately 8 students to better enable the group learning activities.
