The Cell Phone Decision

This dynamic and thought-provoking lesson encourages students to enhance their decision-making skills while exploring the current, and often controversial, issue of banning cell phones in schools. It delves into recent comments made by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, on March 20, 2025, in which he voiced his support for cell phone bans in schools and hinted at the possibility of a national ban. Through this lesson, students will critically examine the implications of such a policy using the Decision Chain, a decision-making tool developed by the Decision Education Foundation. This approach not only helps students better navigate complex issues but also empowers them to make more informed, thoughtful decisions in their everyday lives.
