DEF + Illinois Tech
The Center for Decision Quality at Illinois Tech was founded to close a critical gap: higher education
teaches students what to know, but not how to decide. Developed in partnership with the Strategic
Decisions Group and the Decision Education Foundation, the Center brings five decades of professional
decision-making practice into university life — integrating DQ principles into curriculum, faculty
development, strategic planning, and AI-powered learning tools. The goal is to make Illinois Tech the
first university where decision quality is not just taught, but practiced institution-wide.
